Jerry Hauf
Certified Residential Appraiser
|
I became associated with an Appraiser in 1989 in Billings,
Montana and started doing research on farms and ranches for him,
I then decided I wanted to be an appraiser as I enjoyed the job
with all it’s diversity and nuances and in time I convinced him
to train me.
I first got licensed in Wyoming and then 6 months later became
licensed in Montana and for the next 12 years I spent building a
business which was known as Hauf Appraising. In 2005 I
toyed with the idea of retiring but after a little more than a
year of being out of the loop, I re-entered the appraising
business and added associates so that we could broaden the scope
of our services.
Our specialty is appraising residential properties and small
land tract purchases with an emphasis on unusual properties.
We travel a 12 county radius around Yellowstone County and
appraise all levels of property from small town residential
properties to high end mountain residential properties.
We have valuated properties from $50k to $2.75 million.

Operations / Mobile Notary
Appraiser Trainee
|
After meeting Jerry Hauf of Hauf Appraising in 2003 while he was
appraising my home, we found that we had a lot in common in the
business world and we continued to maintain a friendship for
several years. Jerry retired for a short while but then he
re-entered the appraising business in 2006 and he asked if I’d
be a part of his bigger plan.
Being in business myself as a traveling Mobile Notary, I brought
a broader spectrum of services to our clients. I took on
the role of Marketing and Operations Manager and after becoming
further acquainted with the appraising business I decided to
pursue a career as an appraiser.
I will maintain the original position with the company, but will
also be involved in the company as an active appraiser while
continuing to offer my Mobile Notary services.
